For over 30 years as a radiologist, I've had a unique vantage point—looking beneath the surface of the human body. What I saw was haunting: clogged arteries, fatty livers, silent tumors advancing long before symptoms appeared. Patients who looked "fine" on the outside while disease progressed silently within.

Nearly every procedure carried the same painful realization: this didn't have to happen.

After my residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital, I recognized the critical gap in healthcare—patients received advice but lacked the bridge to turn it into lasting action. That insight drove me to pursue board certification in Health and Wellness Coaching (NBC-HWC) through Duke, specializing in obesity medicine and mental health.
